Offering Distributed Work Opportunities for Engineers Across the Country
One year ago, Tophatter opened it's second engineering-focused office in Bangalore India. After a year of building the team and refining how Tophatter works across global offices, the company is closing the Bangalore office in order to expand across the country.
While Bangalore is known as India's tech-hub, there are qualified engineers throughout the country. To scale our team in India, a distributed work strategy will open opportunities to a much larger pool of talent.
As Tophatter's US and China teams have experienced during the COVID pandemic, remote work can come with its challenges. So, to support our existing team and all new hires in India, we're offering a distributed work allowance to equip Tophatter India employees with the best remote work environment.
"At the beginning of 2020, we set ourselves the goal to empower talent everywhere. Little did we know in a matter of months, this would shift from a goal to a necessity, as our entire team moved to working from home during the COVID pandemic," said Matt Rubens, Senior Vice President Product, Engineering, and Growth at Tophatter. "We are taking what we've learned about optimizing distributed work for the individual and the whole and applying it to scale our team in India. It's a thrilling prospect to look for talent outside of Bangalore and open the doors to engineers across the country."
